The Excel output format is very similar to the Plain output format. However, the data are parsed before they are written to the harddisk. The result is a tab-delimited list of data items with the lines separated by carriage returns (ASCII 0x0D). This list can be imported into Microsoft Excel Version 4 or higher in a single step. Either drag & drop the file into the Excel window or open the file with the File|Open... menu command. In the latter case, a wizard will be started to guide you through the import. As all default settings are perfect, you can immediately press Finish instead of walking through the wizard unless you encounter any problems. If you entered a reasonable Headline with the Options|Headers... menu command, this line will appear in the first line of the Excel table, explaining the contents of the columns.
