This chapter explains the operation of the system.
To start a measurement, perform the following steps:
Make sure that the Tricarb Monitor software is started and toggled online. If necessary, start the program and use the File|Online command to establish the connection with the counter.
Load your samples into the counter. The orange mark on the racks points to the right. The leftmost sample of a rack is counted first. The rack on the right-hand side farthest away from you is counted first.
Make sure there is a protocol that fits your needs. If necessary, modify an unused protocol (see the Tricarb Counter documentation). Plug a protocol marker corresponding to the selected protocol onto the left side of the first rack, and push the marker flag out to the left.
Start the counter by pressing the F2 key on the counter keyboard.
After the first counting time has elapsed, the Tricarb Monitor screen should show the first counting result in the main screen. The status line shows the number of samples counted so far and the filename the data are written to. It is not necessary to manually save the data as they are written to the disk after each sample.
